Squier Vintage Modified Bass VI, oly white. SOLD.

I'm selling my Squier VM Bass vi, in the best colour Olympic white.

It's essentially standard though it has been fettled by ICBM and has a set of (very expensive!) La Bella Bass VI strings fitted.

I picked this over the pawn shop version as I much preferred the switching and pickup options, and it has the essential strangle switch!

This plays very well, though you probably won't want to go past the 19th fret as it gets a bit rattly up there...

Condition is excellent with no bumps / dings / dents.

I'm asking £230 ono,SOLD which seems to be in the mid range of eBay sales for these. I do have the original shipping materials but these have no case so I'm loathe to ship it - I much prefer local collection.

There's definitely something different and unique about these. What's required to baritone them, @benmurray85 ?

I just changed the strings! I believe some people alter the bridge and set it up differently though?

Okay, so dumb question time - do you play these like a bass or a guitar?  i.e. can you play (comfortably) chords on it?

If it was baritoned, would that make it lower in pitch or higher?

I play it like a big guitar, more or less. The scale length and string spacing is more guitar-like to my mind, particularly the spacing.

Baritone conversions seem to simply be getting lighter strings and tuning higher, a-a or b-b seems common, whereas the vi is normally e-e an octave lower than guitar.

@loosemoose the conventional way to tune a bass vi is exactly like a normal guitar but with every string one octave lower (so the E, A, D and G strings correspond exactly to a standard bass guitar). If you baritone one then typically you'd go B-b which would be a fifth higher than standard bass VI tuning.
