    Is the solid state rectifier still intact and serviceable? I had a 63 with this mod but it was done by an assassin as it tried to fry me!!

    With Blonde Bassmans, the transformers are a large part of the value.  The 63 Bassman had a very unusual power supply, in that it has a gain stage that provides a large part of the growly tone that Gretsch enthusiast (such as myself) love so much.

    If it doesn't have the original transformers, I'd look to Mercury Magnets. They are the only company that makes faithful renditions of the original 63 power supply (both PT and OT).  Not cheap though...
