SOLD:
It's with some regret that I'm considering selling another of my Patrick Eggle Berlins - that's the price of being a home owner in the middle of an extension....
This one is a 1996 Berlin Wall and differs from the more mainstream models as it features a factory fitted Floyd Rose bridge. Also this model has a gently curved maple drop top instead of the usual carved top.
This particular example is the actual guitar reviewed by Guitarist magazine and I can supply an electronic copy of the review. It comes in very good condition - little more than a few tiny dinks around the rear edge. It also includes an Eggle / Hiscox case - the case it came with was looking a bit tatty but I'm supplying it with one in better condition - still used, but less worn looking.
Price: £675
(collected from Nottingham but can post)
No offers or trades unless you have a Patrick Eggle LA - I'll also be selling a Strat so the plan is two guitars out and one in, hence the LA would fill the Strat gap in my gear.
Pictures to come later.

Thanks for the comments. I realise I've been a bit sparse on spec, so here it is, copied straight from the Guitarist review in March 1997:
As you'll see, this model was destined to have an alder body, but as a pre-production version this example has a Brazilian Mahogany body.
Here are some scans of the review (and remember, this is the actual guitar used for the review) - this dates back to February 1997:

Needless to say, Martyn Booth was very impressed! Here are some of the highlights - of course he had criticisms, otherwise it wouldn't be a balanced quality review, but even so...
"...We usually see the Berlin with a thick slab of fully carved maple over about an inch of mahogany, but the Wall is a totally different animal. Gone is the dished top carving, in favour of a shape more akin to the camber of a road. The central axis from neck to bottom end pin continues at uniform thickness and the sides are dressed away at an angle of about 5°. This is achieved by pre-shaping the underlying timber and bending the maple cap over the surface with a vacuum press. You may have come across the trendy name for this before — ‘drop-top’...
...The character of the guitar is transformed from the little sweetie to aggressive action man, with sharp edges and chiselled jaw features. The tonal advantages of extra mahogany or alder and less maple are also significant...
...The tremelo system is the standard and supremely engineered German Schaller Floyd Rose, which is now copied in precise detail on some Korean guitars. (Watch out, they look almost identical but are inferior in all areas to the original German version)...
...the neck feels friendlier than some of the wrist-jarringly slim competition it is chasing. It is 20mm deep at the first fret, increasing to 22mm at the 14th, with a shallow ‘C’ profile...
...Tuning stability is flawless under extremes of use and I would expect no less from the Schaller licensed Floyd Rose. If you use a genuine Schaller which won’t stay in tune, change your guitar tech — or admit that you shouldn’t be setting up your own guitars!...
...Getting back to this wood thing, as far as our non-standard sample is concerned, the greater thickness and ratio of mahogany to maple has a startling effect on the Wall, when compared to the usual Berlin range... ...Since I have always believed that mahogany is the real driving force, it comes as no surprise to me that the Wall is a great improvement. Even the acoustic sound has more warmth, oomph, resonance and sustain...
...The Iommi pickups are custom wound for the Wall and appear to be slightly different. The back unit has a DC resistance of 20 kOhms and the neck about 9 kOhms... ...the Wall left me in no doubt that it is absolutely perfectly suited to the job for which it is intended.
...This is one seriously heavy metal Wall. Eggle have thought this guitar out just right: identify the market and make your brand identity fit seamlessly into the niche... ...Special prices are to be held at £999 for solid colours and £1099 for translucents until March 97. After that you may have to fork out quite a bit more, so get over to Coventry and try one quick....
Bump for a fabulous one off pre-production British built boutique guitar...
If it helps, will happily sell this guitar WITHOUT the case for £600.
Or £660 with the Eggle Hiscox case.
