That for all the talk of pushing back the frontiers of space and all that rot, Voyager 1, our most distant probe, has only just left our solar system and, even if it were to change course and head outward for the nearest possible edge of our own galaxy, it would take another 444 MILLION years to get there before it could start the proper journey to the next nearest galaxy, Andromeda. That's the closest galaxy to ours, out of the hundreds of millions of billions of galaxies out there.
That's like moving 0.001 of a millimetre towards the edge of the sofa and talking like you've just walked to Australia and back.
