The Lost Genius of Judee Sill

IMHO Judee Sill was probably the finest singer-songwriter to emerge from the American west coast in the early 70s. I'm a huge fan of her material and am awestruck at the sheer talent this quiet, unassuming woman possessed.  It seems many others were similarly blown away by the construction of her songs, notably Andy Partridge of XTC.  Her personal story was a sad one and she tragically died in 1979, but her music lives on.

Radio 4 produced a documentary on her life in 2014 and really is worth taking time to listen to if you are into acoustic guitar.  or just great song writing..

I've long been a fan of that whole early 70s US singer-songwriter music scene, but only discovered Judy Sill a couple of years or so ago. Agree it's wonderful stuff, although a bit of a sad life story. Appreciate the reminder of her talent anyhow. :)
