BT B'stards

What's Hot
We haven't paid our bill yet by about a week.

They do it every time....they slow us down until the bill's paid. It's now 5mb/sec down and .36mb/sec up.

Usually it's between 18 and 24mb/sec which is slow by Infinity standards an then they have the cheek to slow it even further!

Here's the thing, our contract is up and we can go with another provider from now on. Do they think that they are endearing themselves to us by doing this??

You watch, when we change, they'll be whingeing and griping and pleading for us to come back.

Rant over...feeling much better thanks!

  • Meh, your "crippled" broadband is still more than twice as fast as my normal connection and there really isn't much I can't do on the internet due to slow speeds.  HD video needs a bit of pre-buffering but it's really not an issue.

Of course you could just pay your bill on time.

I'd kill for the 8Meg TalkTalk promised me, instead of the 2Meg I actually get.

I'm too tight to pay for the fastest package. Happy to pay £45/pm for my 60Mb, Tivo, TV XL and phone.

I'll be even happier when they roll out Netflix in my area!

If you're in the UK you can get Netflix now.
You just need a credit card- they don't take debit cards.
If you use a VPN service you can get the US Netflix shows with your UK account- I do.

I can't see any reason why anyone could possibly need more than 1.8Mb/s.  Yes, that's one POINT eight.

And I'm not alone.  BT clearly agree with me.

yeah I've already got Netflix, but it's been rolling out onto Virgin's Tivo platform - they're doing it area by area.

It's going to be handier than using the PS3 if I want to watch it on a big screen.

I remember getting my first 9,600 baud modem.  My mate referred to it as the "Speed Demon" at the time.

It wasn't my first modem though.  I started off with a 300 baud job.

Mind you, the internet didn't exist then.

  • @TTony is right. But this is Suffolk The rest of the country will be teleporting while here they will still be trying to work out how to make buses run more than every other Thursday.

When we're busy teleporting you can have our abandoned buses.

    That'd be nice.

    Currently we're using everybody else's cast-off trains.
