  • Lemmings is still basically the best PC game ever. Apart from Theme Hospital and Age of Empires, obviously.

Have you seen some of the sizes of those games ... 250kb, 400kb ... those were the days when programmers were efficient!!

Out of interest, what's the size of gta5 etc nowadays?

I've been playing theme hospital again for a couple of months. It's still brilliant!

I’m so bored I might as well be listening to Pink Floyd

Always remember with abandonware websites - you are committing piracy, so advertising them on public forums *could* be seen as naughty.

Apparently it's roughly 16GB over two discs.

Eh ?  I thought it meant the companies had relinquished the licences or something ?  Have I got that wrong then ?

    You have :)

It's still in copyright, but the games are old enough for the most part that publishers are unlikely to care enough to try and get you prosecuted.

Now the caveat here would be any publisher re-releasing a game on some nostalgia collection WILL care if the £30 selection of retro games they just released is freely available on a website and peeps keep downloading them.

I had it on the Amiga - it crashed 30s into the game every time... which after the loading time made it not worth playing.

Might not have been a wholely ligit copy so no tech support

But macs are x86 machines now, so should be able to run some form of dosbox that can run these old titles shouldn't they?
