I would say I am somewhere in the same area as you.  The thought of Chas & Blackmore still gives me a good laugh though.

To me they are a mix of all those elements to varying degrees but 3 being the biggest element followed by 2.

BBC 4 did a doccie when they were packing it in and was a retrospective and this showed what dedicated musicians and thoroughly nice guys they really are.

Changed my perception of them greatly seeing their skills and personalities showcased.

Yes I know I just rabbit, rabbit yap yap bunny bunny, now i'll give it a rest.

Yeh, i saw that documentary and tbh had no idea that they had done that much before "chas n dave".
Tbh though, they enjoy the type of music they play and i thats ok.

Just because they don't take themselves seriously doesn't mean they aren't decent musicians. 

Not something I'd generally listen to, but I respect them.
