So I have loved having this guitar and as far as a rock machine goes it is out of this world. Perfect example of how a Les Paul should sound, and if I can shift some of my pedals then I may not need to sell this, however I have gone a bit nuts buying pedals recently and so the cash has to come from somewhere. 

Is a bourbonburst Les Paul R8 with the custombuckers. I spent 3 hours in GAK trying all kinds of Les Pauls and the R8 was by far and away my favourite to play and these pickups were a lot nicer than the burstbuckers (not that they were bad in any way).

Bought this off a gentlemen 3 months ago who had owned it from new for only 3 months or so, he decided that the neck wasn't for him as it is a little bit on the beefy side. He kept it in excellent condition and I have done the same and had it professionally set up as well. Has all the little bits and pieces it came with including Custom Shop certificate of authentification

I don't have a box for this and so it's going to be a cash on collection kind of deal I'm afraid from Newport, South Wales. Starting the price at £2699 for you lovely people (as I expect to get offers), not really after trades unless there is a good amount of cash coming my way (at least £1500).

Probably the price. Keep in mind that you could probably buy a new one for that with a little haggling, never mind a third-hand one.

As a rule of thumb, a second-hand guitar is unlikely to fetch any more than two-thirds of the new price, even if it's in exceptional condition.

^^ Shops don't advertise what they'll knock off for cash, but you can drive a hard bargain, especially in the current market.

A £700+ knock-off will be quite the bargain.  I doubt any shops in my neck of the woods would do that.

Okay people, appreciate the free bumping but like most of you who sell stuff on here I know how this gig works and that unless you put a stupidly low price you are never going to get what you ask for. There are always going to be offers and so I would imagine anyone listing a higher end item might potentially have a higher starting price to achieve 2 things. Firstly to warn off jokers who'll offer you a Baja tele and boss metal zone and secondly because a higher starting price usually means that negotioations end up at around the right sale price in the end. If I listed this at what I wanted there would still be people trying to knock it down.

Lastly, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, we shall see what that value is in due course

^^ For what it's worth that looks like a very nice R8 that may well command a higher price than older, plainer models. However, if you set your asking price too high at the outset, serious buyers may not consider you a serious seller.

Agree with you @brize, would hope someone who was generally interested would be happy to get in touch. It probably also comes down to me not really wanting to part with it, sure when the time comes and need is greater then the price might drop.

Yep, I get that - I've a few guitars that I'd sell if someone really wanted them and was prepared to pay a good price, but not otherwise.

Bump, still available, had a few serious interests.
Might consider a custom shop strat (must have a decent sized neck and rosewood board) or a lazy j 20 fully loaded as part trades with cash my way
