    I hope this one's not a lemon.   ;)

Actually that's a bit unfair. I do like most of the second coming. Great record for me to drive to on a long journey.

  • I'm almost as excited about this as I am about Star Wars.

    Brilliant! Hope it's true.

  • It would be great if it was true.  Also, seems a perfect way to get the rumours going.  Vinyl Revival looks like a record shop would have looked when the first album was released in 1989.

I prefer Second Coming. More guitar less Brown....

The Second Coming was a far better album.

The first one was pretty awful and up its own arse.

  • Another fan of the Second Coming here. That gets played a lot (in the car) more than the legendary debut. Not fussed about seeing them live.

Me too re Second Coming. Some fantastic guitar playing on that album. Its actually the album that got me into the Stone Roses because it's more rock driven so the first album has always seemed a bit tame to me.Still a good album none the less.

Agreed @not_the_dj.SC is a great driving album.

Never heard them. One of those bands I really think I should at least know, even if I don't ultimately like them. Can't be arsed right now though ..... maybe tomorrow.

  • I'm mulling over trying to get tickets. I saw them at the Wolves Wulfrun Hall in 95 (with Robbie Maddix on drums) and they were spectacular. I have a couple of mates who did 80% of the Euro dates last time so I may try and do The Etihad with them.

If you find somewhere safe to hide from his tone deaf drone, save a space for me.

Would love to see the band - second coming is superb, but would hate the Mancs and the Manc vibe/stoned/pissed crowd. So don't think I'll go.

Oi! Us Manc's could take offence at that statement. You could always go and see them with the Buckfast fuelled Jocks at T in the park.

I stood next to a Manc at Heaton Park he had a rucksack full of drugs and vodka and a great day was had by all.

  • Got some tickets for the Sunday, Friday and Saturday were sold out by the time I got on.  Not much left for Sunday either. They have just added Wednesday.

Whatever people say about the Stone Roses, and they do divide opinion (justifiably so), anybody who can sell a football stadium out 3 or 4 times over in an hour is certainly popular.  I wish they would release an album though, but no sign of that and I doubt it will happen.  But just imagine how many copies they would sell, even if it was just okay.

A friend of mine just tried to get 3 tickets for his son.  Queued for 15 minutes, then it said they were sold out.... but there's a link on the page to "Get Me In".

Face value of a ticket, standing: £65.  "Get Me In" price: £176.  Plus a £97(!!!!!) booking fee.  Total cost for 3 tickets: £625!
