Logic X drums

Is it me or do they sound really awful in a mix? I feel like there must be a way to get them sounding good but every preset is just hella roomy and boomy and I'm not good at drum mixing enough to fix it.

Filter the bass drum and toms- I use a 12 or 24db/octave around 50hz on the bass and progressively higher for each Tom (depends on tuning/natural resonance of each drum). I find Drummer to be really good, but I love big roomy drums with loads of bottom end. I mostly use BFD or Superior Drummer though, input from a Roland V Drum kit.
