Humbucker rescue - help!

So, I recently posted this thread about changing the magnet in a Gibson humbucker.

All seemed to be good until I came to use it and found that damned thing was open circuit.

I've investigated and found that one of the coils was open circuit. It currently looks like this:

The coil at the bottom of the picture is the one that was open-circuit. There are two very fine wires under the tape - presumably the two ends of the coil.

Should I give up at this stage? Or is it salvageable?

I am happy to take a look at it for nowt if you want to send it to me ... it shouldn't either be difficult or horrendously expensive to fix ... but don't mess more!

For what it's worth I can vouch for @TheGuitarWeasel's restorative work - it's top flight and incredibly reasonable, he loves what he does, is very thorough and communicated the issues he found really well.

Follow-up on this: I sent off the pickup to @TheGuitarWeasel and it was back to me before I could ask him to add a coil tap!

Now fitted to the guitar, and sounding good - balances perfectly with the single coils (Fenders, of some description)..
