Just turned 38.

My wife's already preparing me for 40.

Scene in shoe shop at the weekend after trying on some boots:

Young girl assistant (about 20): "They look really good, I'm trying to get my boyfriend to buy some".

Wife: "get them off, you're 40, they look silly on you".

Me, (to the assistant as I leave without boots). "I've actually only just turned 38 you know".

No idea why I felt I had to clarify that to a complete stranger who didn't give a toss, doesn't bode well for avoiding a mid-life crisis. does it!

36, 37 next April, and possibly UK bound for work, with my other main objective to start an experimental trio, with some vocals!! Most bands retire at 37....
