I bought a la cabronita body of Drbob on here that needed a neck and finishing. It was cheap and worth a shot but the neck pocket was apparently larger than normal by a few mm. I measured my strat neck and it seemed the right size so I bought a £10 neck off eBay from some generic strat copy. When I got it it was like a club but the neck was an exact fit for the pocket other than it being about half an inch to thick at the heel. I took to it with the belt sander putting a slight angle end to end on it and now it's spot on. I also took around 8mm of the rear of the neck and shaved it using a Stanley blade as a cabinet scraper. I can't believe it but it actually worked! I then cut the head down on my fret saw to vaguely resemble a Tele neck and it isn't half bad! I now think I have to refret it as it has the lowest frets I have ever seen, not worn just really low. I've used up every bit if spray I had as a filler for the body and will be flattening it and choosing a solid colour. I have to re route the filterton route to fit in a p90 now, I may have to try and buy a template as I don't know my freehand routing is anything to write home about. I need to get some sandpaper today to finish sanding it.
