I'm pretty much in the minuses if I'm honest.

    13. I liked metal when I was. Sometimes I still feel 13, but not often.

    NWOBHM, not anything newer… 13 was a long time ago :) .

I think the last metal gig I went to was Iron Maiden when Paul DiAnno was the singer. I still like that early stuff but have never really like 'The Maiden' since this new bloke joined.
I don't know what that makes me as far as metal age goes, but I find it amusing/ scary/ weird (depending on the weather) that my 16 year old son now loves Iron Maiden, but the Bruce Bruce stuff.

Interestingly, rather like Gary Numan, Bruce Dickinson is a pop star... but he's also got a pilot's license! Imagine that!

Mountain, Humble Pie, Lizzy, Sabbath, AC/DC, Van Halen, Judas Priest.. who killed it for me until I found King's X years later.

  • All of it until up to the growling stuff. I came of age metallically in the late 80s so I'm a fan of Bay Area stuff and by association the NWOBHM. So I'm still 17 in metal years.

I bet you Rainbow were new described as Blackmore's new band.  Rather his 'latest' or 'current' band.
