So we always get categorised as "west country" here, and the map makes us "demon north" (red=demons, hell fire and brimstone, non?).

I knew I should have paid more attention in geography.

It always tickled me that Sutherland is almost as far north as you can get in mainland Britain.

(see wiki page for real map if you want (edit: forgot the link, sorry))  (BTW it is stunningly beautiful and the folk are lovely)

I suppose it really was south to most of the Scandinavian Vikings.

So maybe "The North" on those maps and motorway signs is a misnomer?
