    if it's any kind of engineering for the MoD, their procedures are (were back in the day) quite rigorous. And they applied the standards to the letter. Good discipline though.

    I had a mate who did MoD work as well, he called it "working for the Queen". Working for Her Maj seems a lot more preferable than working for a bunch of suits in Whitehall.

    My lot do MOD stuff too.  They have a separate team for that, who get to install / fix kit all over the world.  I was all up for switching to that team until it was pointed out to me that whilst it's nice to get the occasional trip to Akrotiri in Cyprus, the bulk of it is going to shitholes like the Falklands, where you're stuck for a week or more inbetween 200hr flights in the back of a Hercules.  Fuck that.
