Zoom R8 - first thoughts.

Got a Zoom R8 for crimbo and I have to say I'm impressed by the little multi-track recorder. I used to have a cassette multi-tracker then a Roland VS1680 years ago and then moved onto Logic on a mac but it seemed like everything I wanted to just mess about and record something it took so long to set up, find a mic, the USB interface, is there charge in the mac etc. etc. that I lost interest (first world problem I know )

I asked the other half for one of these, built in mics so you really can just hit record and go. On board guitar sounds are OK, perfect for a quick demo. All in the size of A4 note pad. Yes it's a bit 'plastic' but then again it's not a lot of cash. The sound is really good - the reviews I read seem to be right.

Only had a couple of days to play with it, but early signs are it will 'fingers crossed' get me recording again.

I used to have something just like that!! Zoom gear is really good IMO.
