Can you give us a bit more of a clue as to what model the Sheptone is? 

From the link that you've given there are 4 of his bridge pickups that are Alnico 5 and could give a reading of 8.11k ohms! Is the pickup Gibson spacing or wider? Does the pickup mount have long or short legs?

The Sheptone pickup has Gibson spacing and long legs.   It is basically his original clone of a PAF
