  • Boo Instruments, based in SW London, do some fantastic pedals. They make a good clean Boost for less than £50 and I think their Tremolo is the same price.

    Boss SD-1

    Boss DS-1

    Digitech Bad Monkey

    Belcat Delay

Belcat Blood Drive (seriously it's wonderful)

    Marshall Guvnor (Mk2 obviously)

    Marshall Reverb

    EHX Soul Food

    Behringer Vintage Phaser

    Danelectro Peperoni Phaser

All of which I own or have owned and are all fabulous. I'd much rather have a few these cheap, tried and tested pedals than one boutique item which is only going to sound about 0.01% better to my ears than some of these

Rats are still about 50 quid, right?

Cos the Rat is the correct answer to pretty much every "what is the best pedal" question

I just bought a Joyo AC Tone pedal.

Its an AC30 Amp Sim and it sounds incredible.

Works on mains or battery, they include a battery but not a PSU

but any 9volt 500 mAh PSU should be ok.

For £29.99 its got to be a bargain.

  • Danelectro Fish'n'Chips.

Not that great as an EQ, but a pretty useful clean boost if left flat with the level up. And usually about £10!
Why not so great as an EQ?  Mine sounds great. It's quieter than a stock Boss GE-7 and sound wise I actually think it's a little warmer, smoother and morer satisfying than my Source Audio Programmable EQ.  The Fish'nChips is a brilliant bit of kit IMO.

    Other votes:-
Caline Orange Burst (really nice with single coil pickups IMO)
    EHX LPB1 -
Joyo Deluxe Crunch can sound gret with some amps (shit with other mind you)
    Arion SAD1 delay
Arion SOD1 overdrive sounds amazing if you can find an early one.
