McGeoch sound...

I'm looking to do a few Banshees numbers live with the band and wanting to get that McGeoch tone with effects off of Spellbound live.

Been using a Deluxe Electric Mistress and an old 80s RAT.

Gets close, but wandering if anyone had any hints. 

Currently using a Tele for gigging into a Marshall style amp.

Seem to remember he used a  flanger (a MXR IIRC), on a stand and manipulated the settings mid song. Also used a Gizmo.(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkzzBoDnWfM) pretty sure he used Marshalls and a JC120. I used to have an guitar interview with him, i think he was in the Armoury Show at the time, but spoke about his banshees quite a bit'

The second gig I went to, was the Banshees Ju Ju tour.

I reckon he was using an MXR flanger.

Pity I sold mine a few years back....

I've actually been looking into him the past few days and from what I've read about it he did use an MXR flanger (the big 4 knob one), mounted on a stand so he could adjust it on the fly or something. 

I've read that he used some other pedals too like a DynaComp, a DOD chorus/MXR Micro Chorus and some kind of rack mounted Yamaha delay into the Marshall/JC120 combo.

The album version sounds more like a chorus than a flanger to me though. Live videos it's definitely the flanger!

I was going to use a CE-2 or similar, but think I'll stick with a flanger and see how it goes.

The only pedals he used were a compressor (I don't know which) and an old 4 knob MXR Flanger. As for amps, I know he used a Marshall but I have no idea which.

As well as the McGeoch era Banshees, I really like Tinderbox. Can anyone identify what fx were used by John Valentine Carruthers on Candyman? I love the riff to this song.
