Squier Affinity Strat questions

A friend has given me a beaten up Squier Affinity Strat. Thought it would be a fun project to "do it up" so I have a single coil backup for my Jazzmaster.

The neck and body are fine but everything else pretty much needs to be replaced. I have heard that the body is thinner than a real strat, are any of the other dimensions off? Will normal Fender parts fit it ok?

Anyone with any experience would be welcome

Main thing you have to watch with the body is if you upgrade the trem - most normal sized blocks either sit flush with the rear or poke out a bit, so no chance of using a cover.
-- Before you ask, no, I am in no way, shape or form related to Fuzzdog pedals, I was Fuzzdog before Fuzzdog were Fuzzdog.  Unless you want to give me free crap, then I'm related to whatever the hell you like! --
