    Sold the Les Paul Signature

@ICBM what happened with the LP Signature?  I thought you loved that thing judging from your posts earlier in the year?

The neck profile gave me cramps unfortunately - too wide and shallow, typical for a late-70s Gibson.

I loved the sound of it though. I might one day look for another one with an earlier-70s neck profile… but to be honest I'm a bit off buying expensive guitars now. I managed to extract myself from it without losing money, at least - but it took 6 months.

Ah man that is a shame.  At least you managed to get back to square one financially.

Hmmm...not much this year (I think). Definitely no guitars...

    Amp stuff:

    Jet City JCA22H (later sold)
    Jet City JCA50H
    Montage 1x12" cab
    L-Pad Attenuator
    Assorted cables

    Pedals:

    Boo Boost pedal
    Hardwire delay (sold)
    Carl Martin Hydra
Boss LS-2 (for the love of all that's holy, somebody take this pedal off my hands)
    Single bypass loop pedal

    Recording gear:

    Laptop for recording
    TC Electronic Impact Twin interface
    Behringer dual-mic preamp
    SE2000a mic

That's about £1200 there. Bugger, didn't think it was that much.

EDIT: Oh, and some Oil City pickups for the S2, and a neck and electronic gubbins for my Squier Strat. £1400.

In some ways I wish I had been in a position to purchase some of the guitars you guys have had the pleasure of trying but on the other hand I don't know how you decide what to play?

    In:
    Yamaha 112VM,
    Fret King Blue Label Tele,
    Shine 510
    Roland Micro Cube

    Out:
    Yamaha 112VM,
    Fret King Blue Label Tele,
    Roland Micro Cube

Its funny, I used to do the same with golf clubs.

The big mistake of the year was buying the Fret King, when I should have purchased the Cort CR Custom that I had been lusting over for some time. I saw a CR Custom in the flesh today, stunning! The Shine 510 was purchased as a cheap interim while I save up for it again, but its such a good guitar for the money, there's no point in selling it, I will give it to my son down the line.

Next year, the Cort CR will be purchased at some point, along with a Squire Vintage modified strat, but the Cort is the priority.

I'm going to try and only buy pedals in 2014 plus get my westone upgraded, fret dress earvana nut and some locking tuners. Actually I also want to get my hands on a Billy Corgan strat next year too.
I remember those Corgan strats first coming out. Serious GAS, despite not being my style.

  • In:

Squire Classic Vibe Tele Custom Sunburst - needs a fret job, but still love it.

  • My guitar shopping for 2013 seems doomed.  Tried a few guitars out on Friday.  The one that absolutely stood out was a Tom Anderson drop top, feather light, absolutely fabulous player, maybe the best I've played.  But I didn't want to make a snap decision because it wasn't the sort of thing I'd originally been looking for - too similar to what I already have, not totally in love with the colour.  But I slept on it , discussed it with my wife and decided I wanted it.  Checked it out next day and it had sold.

You say that, but I've seen a bunch of other TAs on Ebay and elsewhere stick around for weeks, not selling even after big price drops.  Then this one goes within 24 hours of my trying it........
