volume pedals - which one and active or passive

a mate asked me this one.  I don't know the answer other than avoiding tone suck is crucial.  Whaddya recon

which ones are recommended

I use the rather massive Dunlop DVP1.  It is noticeably bigger than a crybaby, which will probably be a deal breaker for some people.

I have never A/B'd it with another volume pedal, I just really like how it feels to use.  Built like a tank, nice grip, and you can adjust the rocker tension.

But really, it is massive, here is one next to a CAE wah which puts it in to perspective.
