Hhhmmmm.....my BUZZ BOX went tits up the other night and when I took it out of tge chain my overall tone massively improved. It got me to thinking and then when I tried with no pedals, better again.

I never knew it was broke, now I'm convincing myself it is.

The TU-3 is also quicker, more accurate and the super bright mode is great for outdoor gigs...so yeah do it.

Get the korg pitch black unless you want a buffer anyway.

I have a tu2 and a dd3 currently at the start and end of my chain but I'm now also wondering about replacing them with better quality pedals and buying dedicated buffers.

The dd3 has a pretty good buffer in my (admittedly limited) experience with one, but perhaps you could use one at the beginning of the chain, if you have a lot of true bypass pedals.
