What do I need to do to make this work?

Ok so I've not had a proper play around yet, but I'm close to getting my recording setup back up and running after moving.

Basically I want to record with my amp, by using the preamp out and plugging that into my interface.

Now, I'm pretty sure I'll need a cab impulse, but can someone school me a little on them?

Is that pretty much all I'll need? I usually record with a digital setup, but this method is a bit out of my tiny sphere of knowledge.
