Those are incredible. Really like them.

They look like they're wearing corsets. Yummy.

Have you got the amp as well?
    No I haven't. And I don't miss it, yet.

Does the pick guard thing come off?
What do you mean? You want to know whether you can remove the pickguard completely?
If so, than the answer is not really, the top is routed under the pickguard to accommodate the pots and switches.

Nice. I take it you gutted one and left the other standard?

Any advantage to having the switching options without the amp?

I think you are asking a bit much of people to check them out though.

Low production numbers and none/few available for sale will be the deciding factor. I've never seen one in passing - but equally never searched for one.

Curses! I was thinking of a quick way to a vintage 335 - just whip off the guard and add a bridge pickup. I guess they'd all have been done years ago if that was an option

Peanuts? Gruhn's Guitars has a guitar and amp combo in stock for $4.5k. I was thinking more like £250. :-)

I don't like the term gutted, let's say I've replaced the pickguard. No use for the amp part of the controls.
I've however moved the Tonexpressor (Varitone) circuit to a pedal.

I think it looks OK with the pickguard. Much better than the missing $ on your account for a Riviera/Sheraton/3X5.

So it's more hollow than a 335/Sheraton with a shallower centre block.  Does it sound like a cross between a Sheraton and a Casino?

Is that a Dual record player?
Edit, your Yucca it stressed, try giving it less water or not allowing it to dry out too quickly.

No, it is identical to 3x5s. Just more routing on the top.
