Setting up a workshop

Having finally bitten the bullet on retirement I want to kit out my workshop. This is not just for guitar making, but will also include a bit of furniture making, gadgets, and household repair. I've got most of the hand tools I need, but this is the opportunity get/replace some of the bigger stuff. Space is not a problem, and I can justify spending a few thousand. 

We all like telling people how they should spend their money. I've already got bandsaw, pillar drill, planner thicknesser, grinder/sharpener, and dust extraction on my list, and I ought to replace my old soldering iron with a proper soldering station. 

Given this opportunity what would you buy?

I would also add in a bobbin sander, disc sander and router table.

CNC and laser cutting would be nice too (joke... sort of)

Table saw, and I would agree with the router table and bobbin sander.

Table saw is an interesting one.

I don't have one and don't currently have the space.

For guitar building there is never a time I absolutely need one but it would be handy from time to time.

If you have the space then a decent table saw would be useful but not essential.

Something else, if budget and space is truly not an issue is having a small and a large bandsaw.

I have a large standalone bandsaw but often do cuts where I need a smaller blade with more teeth per inch.

A second band saw with a smaller blade is very useful.

For guitar making I'd agree that a table saw is of limited use, but for furniture it's very handy.

If you don't have the space then a tracksaw and a router will get you over most of the same ground.

Dust extraction is first priority if I was starting again. Kinda defeats labour-saving devices if you have to do lots of clearing up after every time you use them.
