Fathers Day Ideas?

What's Hot

Hi folks.

Has anyone got any cool guitar-based ideas for a Fathers' Day gift for around £20-30? My old man has pretty much everything he could want, but he really appreciates small gifts. I saw this which looks pretty useful and he would definitely use it, but it's a little uninspiring... wondering about a book, whether that's a Biography or something he could maybe learn some new stuff from. Even a CD would work, he's into Blues mostly.

Any inspiration would be great.

Thanks. :)

Andy

A new strap, that's what I'm dropping hints for.

Yeah, that's a great idea but he just bought one this week for his new Gretsch. I wish I'd thought of heading him off at the pass and bought one for him.

There's DVDs called American Folk Blues Festival, I've got vol 3, has a young Buddy Guy, Son House, Skip James, & others, if he likes that kinda thing.

Thanks guys. I'll check out those DVDs, they sound pretty cool.

I started to stress about it as Mrs. P wants to be organised... so I know I've only got limited time before I get grief for not having something sorted.

    Bacon.

Good bacon though, not cheap watery bacon.  Nothing against the latter but for Fathers Day a drier cooking bacon would be better.

I did wonder about  a Polytune clip too. I've got one and really like it. That's definitely an option. :)

He's not big into bacon, I might order some for myself though!

The best instructional DVD I've ever watched. Cannot recommend it enough.

That's the kind of thing that could be a great call - thanks! Will go and have a look at that just now.

    This kind of thing?

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Guitar-Tools-Kit-Luthier-Stainless/dp/B00E2ZTGRC/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1465558608&sr=8-4&keywords=guitar+tool+kit

various guitar tool kits available, this one has cheap nut files for a bargain price. Not sure they'd hold up to making lots of new nut blanks but for service they would be ideal.
