Just a quick question. I've just got a rebate bit with 3 bearings, 1mm, 2.5mm and 4mm rebates.
I need a 2mm for my binding and I was wondering has anyone ever made a sleeve for a bearing before?
I was considering using electrical tape cut precisely to bring the 2.5mm to a 2mm.. it sounds dodgy and it is.. if anybody has a better method then I'm up for giving it a shot or point me towards the correct bearing.
I'm using a Trend 46/44 x 1/4 rebate bit:
Dimension C: 12.7 mm
Dimension D: 24 mm
Bearing 16 mm - Rebate Size: 4 mm
Bearing 19 mm - Rebate Size: 2.5 mm
Bearing 22 mm - Rebate Size: 1 mm

You can tape up but its obviously not ideal . Stew-mac used to* advise taping the bearing on there oversize neck pocket templates. I would avoid a plastic tape as it will get warm and possibly melt- masking tape does work but make sure its really well applied.
and test on scrap before you touch a guitar... if you cant do it successfully on scrap then don't touch the guitar
*edit - still do
