Other notable highlights for me are...
Cool hand Luke ..50 boiled egg eating scene
Shawshank Redemption...where he plays the record over loudspeaker
Blazing Saddles..Farting Scene
I really liked the final scene from "Captain Phillips" - I've never seen a shock being acted that well in the movie before. Whole movie, not the best but few brilliant scenes there.
Ripley hiding from the alien in the escape pod in the first Alien film.
The bit in 2001 where the bone flying up in the air from the monkey scene gradually morphs into the space station.
Brigham City. A crime movie made mainly by Mormons, many amateurs, in which the Mormon faith is a key part of the story. Budget was $900,000. Put you off yet? Last full scene, which is essential to the story, is played out without a word being spoken. And is all the more powerful for it.
Imitated many times, never equalled.

I love the dream like quality in David Lynch's films and coupled with Roy Orbison's In Dreams it is incredibly effective.
The reactive acting from Dennis Hopper is just brilliant.
