VW to drop over 40 models

WOW! I guess they had to come up with something after the emissions scandal, I'm guessing giving over 40 models the boot is unprecedented by a manufacturer.

Just over 10% of the range though.

For VW, the big thing is the US market. They really need a model that do well over there, and I think even before the emissions scandal they were struggling with that. They have a huge R&D budget though, so I am sure they will pull something out of the bag.

They make 340 different models?! Does that include every slight variation of each model though?

That's across VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda.

40 models across those marques isn't much.. now if Fender could do the same for the Tele and Strat ranges...
