I've been texting "STOP" to Vodaphone for months to vainly halt the endless stream of messages about "awards points" or whatever it is.  

Perhaps I've got it wrong after all, I'll try texting "START".

A few years back I reported what at the time was a break in at the shared house I was in to the plod. Turned out one of the guys I lived with had gone one the rampage and was duly evicted.

I received about 8 'follow up calls' which were basically asking for a service rating ( plodskis were fine ). By the eighth call I told them if their results on crime were anywhere near as thorough as their need for an ego massage then said massage would be a fucking given and hung up.

They never did ring back......
