When You're On Holiday, Do You Still Fretboard ?

I love this forum. I mean really love it...

At Rhodes airport now, waiting and logged on. Ive had 2 gorgeous weeks, with my gorgeous wife... And ive still Fretboarded every day. Not out of gas, not out of boredom - simply because i love the forum !!

Anyone else do the same ?

I try and go off-grid as much as possible when I'm away. These days that still means I'll check stuff once a day maybe, and still use my phone for maps or translation, but getting away from screens and emails is a huge part of vacation for me.

No. I think I have checked briefly for any messages but beyond that no. I like holidays to be a break from as many day to day things as possible. Although as we haven't been going anywhere of late for one reason or another it's a moot point. :o3

nope i will be relaxing (even more than usual) playing with the kids (my own) and in the down time learning mandolin (Kefalonia this year so it seemed apt)

yeah. checked in when I was in Florida last year during some relaxing afternoons.

I tend not to bother with my smartphone at all if I'm down in Dartmoor. I sometimes love being able to leave all our modern possessions behind and just enjoy the countryside

No. When I'm not at work I try to unplug completely. If I don't turn my phone & iPad off I'll inevitably be contacted by work- which REALLY p!sses me off. 

I actively look for places that don't have wifi (or even phone signal). 

Last year I went "Glamping" in the borders- living in a canvas house with no gas, electric, phone, wifi… It was BRILLIANT. I spent all my time playing with my kids (or the mandolin I took with me) and was totally relaxed by the time we left.

Me and Mr S generally go to places and do things that make internet access difficult, walking in Nepal, camping in the Valley of the Moon, cycling in remote Viet Nam etc. I will have a look if I have access.

If we are on a break in the Peaks I'll access the internet whilst Mr S is watching Corrie or Dine with me or something equally mind numbing on the hotel telly.

I think that's quite a normal thing to do.

Yes, did last week in Sotovento, Fuerteventura whilst on a windsurfing trip, and will late July whilst on Lefkada and Kefalonia.
