New political party formed

I didn't know this - rules could force Labour MPs to form a new party:

Thus far 172 Labour MPs have declared that they have no confidence in their leader. That leaves just 40 who say the opposite and not all of them can be trusted to mean it. If Mr Corbyn renews his mandate with his membership and returns as leader he will be unable to form a shadow ministerial team. He will not have enough people to function. Politicians like Clive Lewis, Richard Burgon and Dave Anderson, who are all horrendously out of their depth already, will have to take on about three portfolios each. A party split then turns into a national disgrace and a constitutional crisis.

In those circumstances, the SNP will demand to be recognised as the official opposition as they have more MPs than the number that have expressed confidence in Mr Corbyn. The 172 Labour MPs who have said in public what most have long said in private – that Mr Corbyn is leading them to electoral oblivion – will, in effect, have declared themselves as a new body. The question will then arise of whether they do so. Labour MPs took legal counsel some time ago about whether they would be entitled to declare themselves the official opposition if they were simply greater in number than Mr Corbyn’s residual Labour Party. To nobody’s surprise, lawyers could be found to offer both views. When Labour MPs approached John Bercow, the Speaker of the House of Commons, his judgement was that they would have to declare themselves as an official entity which was registered with the Electoral Commission. He told them, in effect, that they would have to form a new party.

Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!

As the Tories announce this and that and the leadership race goes well, Jeremy's out and putting ISIS and Israel in close proximity. Well played, dustbin, well done.

At this rate, you'll have Labour MPs contacting Daesh and asking if they've got a spare afternoon in the near future and whether they'd be willing to come to London.
