Is it difficult trying to retrofit humbuckers to a p90 guitar?

Or rather, whatever pickups are in the classic player jaguar. I'm not sure they're techinically p90s.

Or is the spacing too wide and weird?

GFS, The Creamery and Dimarzio all make P90-sized 'buckers. I've got the DiMarzios in one guitar, about to fit them to another; they sound very decent.

Not at all easy to fit - they are different dimensions and different shapes to each other. As @Sporky rightly says, there are a decent few options of humbuckers in P90 dimension and shape.

Though doesn't the CP Jaguar come with either normal buckers or standard Jag pickups?

In which case you could have a scratchplate cut to fit whatever you wanted in.
