What's the silliest thing you've ever worn out of the house?

I got made redundant from my first job way back in 1990. I turned up on the last day wearing my roller hockey boots, fluorescent dayglo short shorts, a jazzy waistcoat, no t-shirt at all and a bowler hat. I got a lot of laughs and smiles that day!

On the last Comic Relief day at school i made a lifesize can of beer out of chicken wire, wood and heavy lining paper, with a letterbox style slot to see out of and arm holes. I got inside it and i was sponsored quite a lot of money to spend the whole day in this thing, walking to and from school as well..............like something out of 'It's a knockout'.

I spent all day in classes listening to my walkman and looking at porn and no teacher had the slightest idea what i was doing. I even got away with smoking inside it while i was outdoors.
Just for one day, i won.

Other than that i wore a tuxedo once.
That's fucking ridiculous.

Kilt probably and then being forcibly raped by a hen party of ten at a garage.  Still, female on male rape doesn't exist does it. so I guess I should just be happy, although I would have rather have been home.  I plan to seek my revenge with guns and ammo.

My wife & I met at uni. 
I "spent the night" in her room in halls, I must have been tired because i woke up 5mins before a compulsory practical class. (the kind you fail the term if you miss it).

So  I leapt out of bed, pulled pants & jeans on, grabbed the rest of my clothes & started running across campus to the lab... I arrived to much amusement from staff & students alike- the clothes I'd grabbed & put on whilst running weren't ALL mine. 

I had my jeans & boots, but her pants, "my little pony" t shirt, socks & a hoodie with her name across the shoulders. 

Thankfully she's tall & I was running competitively and so very lean at the time or I'd probably have had to do the class half naked. 

Was worth it though. 18years later our friends still tease me about it.

I used to wear a bandana, baggy shorts, and a t shirt to raves. Nobody batted an eyelid *at* the rave but I blame that on the various substances being taken.

To anyone else I probably looked like I was on day release

We knew some posh people advertising who were having a party, fancy dress beach theme. I got 4-5 bin bags and stuck them together, stuck some old cans and bottles and stuff on the outside. Four of us fitted inside, pantomime horse style - we went as an oil slick : )

I have had the thing of going to a fancy dress party,  dressed as a pump bag,  only to find no one else had bothered with fancy dress. 
At some point I had purple jeans I did bleach streaks on then drew all over with a marker pen, this was some time after my really awful looking snakeskin patterned trousers. 
The only item of clothing that has ever consistently drawn comments was my SOD Speak English or Die the shirt.

Gimp suit. I say 'suit' it was a proper gimp mask and some tightly gaffer taped bin bags with a few belts. It was Halloween though.

 I also wore the said gimp mask and a slipknot thong at offset festival in London a few years ago, I walked across the stage while my mates band were playing. All the reviews of the band mentioned me.

An Adam Ant style white stripe on my nose in a school disco in 1981. One of the teachers caught me and a couple of friend applying them in toilets, then told my parents about it, barely stifling his mirth. Prick.
