Un-Coil Splitting

What's Hot
My guitar at the moment has a push-pull coil split. I'm planning on replacing one of the pickups but keeping one but I don't particularly want the coil split feature so will be replacing that switch with a normal tone pot.

Would I just take the 2 wires from my current pickup that are attached to the push-pull switch and twist them together?

It depends which wires go to the switch and how they're currently connected.

If both wires go to the same terminal, solder them together and tape or heatshrink the joint. If they go to different terminals, tape or heatshrink just the wire that's on its own, and connect the other one to where the other wire on that terminal goes to.

Had a look but couldn't really work it out, bit of a spaghetti junction.

Was surprised to see a capacitor on the volume pot too.

That will be a treble-pass cap to retain highs as you roll the volume down.

What guitar is it - something like a PRS?
