Noob Question - Switch Grounding

What's Hot
I've been looking at various wiring diagrams to get a general understanding of how guitar electronics work. I notice that when it's a toggle switch, like on a Les Paul, the switch itself is connected directly to ground but when it's a blade switch, like on a Strat, the switch isn't directly connected to ground.

What is the reason for this?

Think I've worked it out actually; possibly because on a Strat the switch is touching the foil on the back of the pickguard which is also touching the already-grounded pots whereas on a LP the switch isn't touching anything else.

    Correct! :)
