rickenbaker pickup change

Frets: 1680
Son (in France) wants to replace the bridge pup in his Rickenbacker with something hotter.
I have asked for the model number. It looks exactly like the Lennon Ricky but we know it is a slightly different model.
The guitar is a 330 ser YF 1179 built June '85. Is it valuable at all? (thanks J. )
