They're US threads and are surprisingly hard to get in the UK. Allparts or one of the other guitar-parts specialists are probably the best bet, but you will still pay a lot for them compared to typical European screw sizes.

The pickup screws should be #6-32 x 5/8" - the switch mounting screws for a Mustang are smaller, I can't remember what thread but I will see if I have any...

I've found pickup screws online, and also switch screws but they're only available from America it would seem.... Are the screws for the mustang switch the same as ones you'd use on a strat switch or anything else.

No, smaller. But they are the same as Jaguar switch screws if you can find those.

I always carry 6-32 pickup and switch mounting screws in countersunk and dome head, as well as hard to get slotted for the early fifties look. :-)

The slide switches use quarter inch long 4-40 UNC raised countersunk head screws.

Cheers Steve mate, would you know of a supply in the UK, especially somewhere I can get my hands on them within 24 to 48 hours, I desperately need them before Saturday...?

  • I have purchased various screws in stainless steel from AccuGroup (www.accu.co.uk/en). They have quite large minimum order quantities for each line, but when I last ordered from them I made up the order with a range of metric and imperial grub screws for saddles, pickup mounting screws etc and figured I'd have enough to last a lifetime. Unfortunately I don't have the ones you need, but it may be a useful source for a future occasion, and they certainly have ones meeting the description of @SteveRobinson.
