Is this okay? Putting .11 strings instead of .10s?

What's Hot
I have an epi lp standard, and It came (i think) with .10s and I have some .11s i want to try out. Is it gonna screw up the setup?

Probably not. You might need to tighten the truss rod slightly. If you're unlucky the nut grooves may be a little tight for 11s as well, but they're usually OK.

What @ICBM said. It will perhaps bow the neck slightly, but nothing a few tweaks can't fix. Still within the range of what an epi lp can take.

  • 11s for the win!
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

effectively endorse the above comments - certainly any further adjustments should be minimal

You might have to file the strings down a bit where they join the nut.

Only joking. Should be fine. Only time I had a problem was when I went from 10s to 13s and then it was simple tweak of the truss rod to correct an upward bow in the neck.

I've got 12s in my Epi LP and it's fine.

As a precaution I would lube the nut slots just to be sure the strings don't bind there.

totally endorse that - 10's are like elastic bands on a Jag - far to floppy - just had  to do that yesterday on a Jag and far better with 11's in my view

They felt fine but now worn in , I'm thinking I should "man up" and get the 11s on too.

I made a slight adjustment on the truss rod, but mainly as it was to straight anyway - marginal change if required

Staying in the same tuning. I don't really want to screw up the setup so I'm staying at .10s i guess...

at the very most you will need a quarter turn on the truss rod but its not a certain.

The staytrem will be fine mate

Intonation? Should be mandatory when swapping string gauges.
