Hi there - we don't delete classifieds posts here, so please just edit them to add "WITHDRAWN" to the title and body, and they'll sink without trace.

Don't edit the posts to remove the content, though; that's likely to result in you being barred from the classifieds (PM me if you want more details on the reasoning for that).

User banned for refusing to abide by the house rules, personally identifiable data removed as per Data Protection Act request (yes, seriously).

No. It was more of an informal, implied threat.

As a result, the member's personal data was removed and the account disabled, but - as the posts aren't personal data under the DPA - they remain as per our rules.

The point being...threatening us with the DPA in order to circumvent our rules is self-defeating. Some people (nobody remaining in this thread) could probably use it as an object lesson
