I can't decide on KoT config, especially do I go for higher gain?

Do people here prefer:-

1 - Leave it as original
2 - High Gain Red side
3 - High Gain Yellow side
4 - High Gain Both sides

I had higher gain on both sides last time I had one.     I asked Mike and he suggested that it would sound the sound as the lower gain if you just turn it down a little so if in doubt he recommended getting the higher gain on both sides.

I'm about to order another and will probably just get the high gain on the OD side of the pedal as I didn't crank the gain on the boost side,

You mean Higher Gain on the red side?  I've did a bit of reading and it seems that is the most popular choice.

High gain on red side only is the most popular option and the one that seems to make most sense to me - that's what I've got. Depends what you plan on using it for I guess.

This might help. My name just hit the top of the list. Think I'm going normal gain but 4 socket.

High gain red side, and as Ross says, go for the 4 socket.

I wish mine was 4, as you can then control them separately thru the ES5/8 or G2.

Not ordered yet but I think I'll go for old faithful with red side high gain, 4 jacks and switch

There is no limit stated in the email but my name came up 3 months ago and the link still works.

My name came up about 15 months in, name down 01/03/2015 and got the email on 21/06/2016.

There is no time limit to purchase once you reach the top of the list.  I'd go for high gain on both sides.  Even then, it's not "high gain" but it is more usable
