Timmy v Magnetic Effects Satellite?

Anyone tried both and how do they compare? The demos sound similar to my ears. both sound great.

I have been looking at these too....very reasonably priced at £105 !!  do i need yet another OD?

I would say the Timmy and the Satellite fill a similar sonic role in terms of overdrive/boost: Same concept, different execution circuit wise.

With the Satellite you can dial in neutral tones that retain the character of your guitar and amp or you can roll the High and Low controls back for a more midrange orientated response. It has a fairly dynamic, low compression response.

I don't have a Timmy on hand to compare but based on customers comments the Satellite is a bit smoother on the top end with a touch more headroom. (The Satellite has an internal voltage doubler and Jfet output stage.)

Thanks loads for the response and advice. Ive got to be honest, they sell themselves, the White Atom is an absolute treasure, and if the Satellite is anything like it, that will be too.

I have both and like both. The Satellite has more character to my ears though - if I could only choose one it would be the Satellite.
