Guitar cave - Zadgan edition

So there's recently been a few guitar room builds and it got me thinking about the one that @hubobulous ;;; put together a while ago, which I really liked.

Since I'm now an adult and have bought a house, I finally have a room that I can put all my gear in. Admittedly, it's the toy room for my kids, but at least it's my room when they sleep, so for now it will have to do.

the room isn't that big, but has built in wardrobes...which will serve as my storage space. The idea is that everything is set up and ready to play at any time. 

Renovations are are still being done in the house, but we moved everything in and I took the opportunity to take a picture of all of my gear in one spot, excluding 2 guitars (acoustic and a custom build) 

I'm hoping all of this will fit in some configuration into the 3 door wardrobe...may require some bespoke shelving and partitioning...but we'll see

One thing that I'm working towards which may or may not help you is separating the heads from the cabs. You might find some options of storage that you might not have considered before by doing that.

Do the amp heads fit in the shelving in the last pic?

being an excel geek...i've broken down the wardrobe and all my equipment into 10cmx10cm units represented by cells in excel. It's like playing Tetris.

nope...not wide enough.

this pic is a little old...i've since gutted it all out, so i have an empty space to plan around. The shelf that stretches all the way across is being kept...at the moment I'm thinking of lining all amps and then putting a shelf over the top...it will just fit, with allowance for two support beams. 

Then on top of the shelf will be guitars and pedals boards etc...

I don't actually...but I've done a little work since. I'll get some more pics mid week when I go to the house again.

Ok, so yesterday i put the shelf in and the supports, and by last night I had the equipment in the wardrobe...it fits with not even 1mm to spare...but looking at it now, its not the best use of space. The area on top of the pedalboard is wasted, and i have a box of guitar bits and pieces and cables that need a home too...so i gotta think of a different config.

so issues i need to solve for:
1. additional crap to put away
2. make better use of the area on top of the pedalboard
3. replace the multi-guitar stand with something more vertical, or build something into the wardrobe myself.


but here it is anyway...

What gets more play, the Bastin necked JM, or the silverburst? Think I'm gonna burst for a silverburst at some point in the nearish future.

The Bastin is first and my main guitar, until my hand starts to hurts, then the Monson...and finally the Silverburst.

i suspect the next guitar im getting will trump all three.

I know man...the black cab was too good a deal to pass up...the speakers I love and built like a tank...I will re-tolex it at some point. 

But it now that Crimson Ritual is no more, it's hard to justify.
