Dan Armstrong 341 London Woody - Pickup Help!!

Hi All

This is my first post here (be nice). I've recently acquired two Dan Armstrong 341 'London Woody' guitars that were never finished in the factory and I understand that some of these kits were sold via this site earlier this year.

Now, my issue is that I have no Pickups, Bridge, Nuts or Tuner Heads.. most of which can be easily replaced. The pickup however I need some help with..
Does anyone have any originals they would sell (long shot, I know) or if anyone has any originals they could give me the dimensions and good photos of so I can have some made?

My other query is that one of the guitars appears to be contoured (like a strat) yet I can't find anything anywhere on the internet about this ever existing, has anyone ever seen another?

Really looking forward to getting stuck into this project, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    hi Danny

I'm new here too, and yeah I got one of these project Woodys on ebay too. Mine is different, maybe a prototype?
I'm planning to fix it up in a Les Paul Special style, with vintage P90s and a scratchplate based on a Rickenbacker 425..
I believe Aaron Armstrong had a small number of his father's original low impedance humbuckers, but he sold them to the user on here who was selling more complete kits of these guitars. Aaron could probably make you one to the orig spec - contact him at http://www.armstrongpickups.co.uk/

    here's my one:

Hi! Lovely, that.  P90s will be really nice but I'm going for as original as possible.

Thanks for the tip, I've already contacted Aaron and his dad is making me one based on the original specs and having it shipped over from the states, really excited.

One of mine looks like a prototype of some kind as well, it's contoured like a strat and is a slightly different finish. It's much lighter too. There's a few small pictures below, I'll get one in the next few day of them side on to each other. One is so much thinner than the other.

Make sure you post some pictures of it once you've got it finished!

It'll be a while before mine is done - getting frets first, then grain filling and finishing - have used Tru-oil on a a few gtrs, might try Wudtone for this one. The body on mine must be about 2" thick, but doesn't feel too heavy. I saw your two on the eeb same time as mine, I'd been looking for an LP Special project and had been looking at kits, and when this batch turned up again I went for it - major bargain I think. It doesn't have the slot in the neck for the pickup track.
The serial number on mine starts with an A, not a 4 or 5 - what about yours
