The Blackstar £400

Built like a well built tank with the less is more philosophy towards producing real quality. The two channels provide usefully different sounds and play nicely when blended together too.

The main channel has a really nice transparency to it, as in it doesn't impart a lot of character to your guitars sound but has a purity that doesn't get in the way. The second channel, with the EF86 pre amp, is more characterful and adds its own grit and feel to proceedings.

There is a little extra treat with this one, as the stock speaker has been upgraded to the real deal. A Celestion G12H that I believe is from 1973. I've got no way of verifying its manufacture date but it looks right and has a warmth and depth that people seem to find lacking the reproduction used as standard.

The condition is mostly good, there are some small marks on the toolbox, the only one i can get to photograph you'll see on the front corner. And the handle fabric has come loose, which you can see in the pics.

The Vox AC4 £230

The most fabulously daft practice amp of them all. It's a very simple affair producing 4, 1 or a 1/4 watt of cool voxiness with tone, volume and power output dials.

It does a fantastic job of giving you big and deep sounds at those low level volumes when drummers aren't involved. I think the sweet spot is on the one watt setting as you get into break up at a really usable volume without any hint of attention.

It's in great condition and waiting to bring a little class to your living room.

I do have an itch for a strat going on and as far as pedals go, I'm not a great pedal user but I do really miss my Flint.
