A little surprisingly, owing to my little synth doodles on Instagram, an Australian independent film maker contacted me and asked me if I would do some music for their forthcoming film. 

Finished it tonight. First thing I've recorded at home, and was tremendous fun. Thankfully, they seem to be really pleased with it, and have suggested it may actually be used as the main theme. Anyway, a
little different to Rich List stuff, here it is if anyone is interested:

Im just transitioning into my middle age! Figure there's more legs in soundtrack stuff than prancing around on a stage forever! It's a different kind of fun really.

Did you see any of the film material before you provided the music? Did they give you any direction?

Hahaha! Nope, they contacted me as they saw me faffing around with this tune on Instagram; I'd just been playing it live / jamming it really - they were dead keen on it and asked for it as a track.

I am not surprised - it sounds brilliant and conjures up a certain mood/atmosphere/aesthetic..... what a great way to get paid as well - be lovely if it develops into something regular for you.

Yeah, it was really fun to do. Mixing was a bit of a chore, as I'm having to learn a new set of monitors in a room that's pretty bright sounding, and we've just had our second child too so I've been mixing in the small hours at low volume when the rest of the family has fallen asleep!
