Thoughts on this Thinline Telecaster

I think I want to go and trade in a guitar and buy this Tele.

However the rosewood neck has me confused as to wether I like it or not?

Soft V is fine it's just the rosewood aspect. Thoughts?

Mine has just arrived into stock - same spec and colour - just not got round to pics yet - Yes unusual on a 50's model to get both rosewood and thinline, but the nature of a Custom Shop model is to create such models - Poetic licence to customise - very resonant and great tonal character - any questions just ask

If Fender's rosewood necks feel as good as PRS' then it should be amazing...

I think it adds some soul and lush vocal qualities to the tonal character - after all  the springy lively nature of a thinline ash body, plus bolt-on neck adds plenty of snap, so overall it can be bright - This rosewood neck offers that sweet and sour blend

    I don't like it. I wouldn't buy it.

But I'm not you. If you like it go for it!

Thinlines and Teles in general have to have maple boards for me - so a whole rosewood neck is a non starter!

Looks sooo wrong ..like a maple neck has been replaced by a allparts rosewood neck ..so its a big NO from me

I'm into it. But I would qualify that by pointing out that using my opinion as any kind of barometer is a really really bad idea !

I like it a lot.  In fact I have a very similar Thinline, only mine has a bakelite scratchplate and a maple neck, with a rosewood board.

I do think the all-rosewood neck looks a bit odd - good, but odd - but I could get used to it.  The main thing would be what does it sound like.

Not for me, just looks 'wrong' - I do like maple board thinlines though.
I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

Rosewood necks feel amazing. I'd view it as a big plus just for that.

  • I bet that feels great to play. Are you playing for how it sounds or for how good it feels to play? Hmmmm!

  • The dark headstock face doesn't look right to me, aesthetically. Rosewood board on a maple neck and I would love that.
